Teachers at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall received an emotional surprise this holiday season, as their former students delivered an unexpected personal message about the impact these teachers have made on their lives.

The heartfelt messages were played for the unsuspecting teachers while they were in the middle of teaching a class, and their emotional reactions were captured on video.

The Inspiration Surprise videos are a holiday tradition at CH-CH, which seeks to make teachers aware of the impact they are making on their student's lives.

"It was such a lovely moment," said English Teacher, Conor Maguire. "To see the exciting and creative adulthoods my former students have chosen for themselves speaks to our work here at CH-CH and the way faculty is able to help with trajectory and the realization of self."

Director of College Counseling, Brooke Fincke, added: "It's incredibly rewarding to hear that our work has been impactful and helped to propel students to identify and reach their potential."
