Spring Session is CH-CH's experiential learning program that involves all members of the community. Since 2013, Spring Session has opened the door to exciting experiential-learning opportunities for all CH-CH students. The 2019 sessions gave students the opportunity to create, travel, and connect with history in ways that could only exist by getting out of the classroom.

On Saturday, June 1st, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School recognized the fifty-four graduates of the Class of 2019 in its 191st commencement ceremony.

The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School Varsity Softball team has spent the past four years shattering school records and making history. With two league titles under their belt going into the spring of 2019, the team was more determined than ever to reclaim their throne.

The Class of 2019 at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall, can be defined by their broad range of interests- from meteorology to documentary filmmaking, from illustration to early childhood education, and all the computer science, sociology, mechanical engineering, math, and political science majors in between.

The MakerSpace at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is a creative hub that’s stocked with 3D printers, circuits, motors, building materials, and the tools to make just about anything you can imagine, but it’s also something much more. The MakerSpace is allowing students to take control of their learning experience by enhancing CH-CH’s ability to teach the way students learn through real, hands-on educational opportunities.

When students at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School were given the freedom to create their own lesson plans for Diversity Day workshops, 16 individuals and groups came together to lead rich workshops designed to educate our community on a wide range of topics.

In the spring of 2016, the Visual and Performing Art (VPA) department launched the “Campus as Canvas” program at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School. The concept behind the program was to find ways to use the School’s campus to help facilitate learning, beautify the campus, and show the diverse culture that CH-CH fosters. The Campus as Canvas program is meant to demonstrate the School’s support of the arts through enhancing and expanding the visual art spaces on campus. With three installations complete, CH-CH is excited to begin work on the fourth with the esteemed local metal fabricator and artist, Alaina Mahoney.

After more than a 20-year absence on the CH-CH campus, tennis is back, and is being led by an instructor with lots of experience and an incredible attitude towards the sport.

Are you a parent or teacher of a student who will not turn the device off? Unfortunately, this is an all-too-common occurrence with today’s generation of high schoolers. I don’t mean to generalize as there certainly are some students who are able to manage their social feeds and academics without it taking their abilities completely off course.
